Anniversary!

Today is the big day, our 4th anniversary. Wow, the time flies. Our celebration will actually commence on Saturday when the babysitter takes our little fireball daughter off our hands for a few hours. Catherine is the designated planner this year, and while her plans are kept secret from me I know that they will include good food and good wine. Oh, and I got a cool flowering plant from her as a gift, seeing as the 4th is the flower anniversary.

Flashes of brilliance at Willows

I don't mean this to be a golf journal, but since I have played 3 rounds in the past 5 days it is a current topic of my interest. Yesterday at Willows Run was quite a round, and I ended up with a 79 through 17 holes before darkness set in. That score included two birdies on the back 9, one of which came from a par 3 where I put a 7-iron shot within two feet of the hole.

I was playing with three guys from my spring softball team, and they wanted to play a skins game with some additional incentives on par 3 holes (first on, closest to the hole, etc). Long story short, that par 3 birdie paid for my round, heh.

Sticking our shots close on another par 3 - how did we all miss those putts? Posted by Picasa

Highlander Golf Club

Friday was a fun day of golf with Devon, Jesse, and Tri at the Scottish links-style Highlander Golf Club in East Wenatchee. The playing conditions were quite pleasant for mid-summer as the temperatures hovered in the mid-80s and there was a nice breeze.

Tri, Jesse, and Devon on hole 9, aka "The Ravine"

I played the front 9 at a mediocre 12 over par, but I cranked up my game a few notches after the turn, ending with a personal best 3 over par for 9 holes and a respectable 87 total. It was a great way to start out the Crescent Bar weekend.
